Make it Naomi Klein’s new article in The Nation, accessible online here. But when you’re finished, you might wander over to The Confluence to check out riverdaughter’s Saturday morning post, wherein she explains:
Barack Obama did not run a brilliant winning campaign. He was carried across the finish line by his friends.
Definitely worth reading.
The fact that this primary election was stolen is as evident as was the stolen election of 2000. Barack Obama is a candidate without legitimacy acting exactly as George W. Bush did to consolidate power in an attempt to preempt those growing accusations of illegitimacy. I agree with riverdaughter that our best shot to stop Obama is now, before the convention. It’s our best shot to stop the all out assault on Democratic values and long-time Democrats by the neoliberals and their authoritarian mindset. I just hope enough people are paying attention. It’s so important that I couldn’t stay quiet anymore, and is the reason I started this blog. I will do whatever I can help to help defeat Obama this November, even it means four years of split rule, with Dems in the Congress and Reps in the Executive, and that nothing gets done. It’s better than continuing this slide away from Democracy, which I am convinced is what Obama is all about. He’s more like Bush than McCain is. And his supporters are as bad, if not worse, than Bush supporters were.
Okay, rant over. Had to get that out this morning. Heh.
